This year’s »Moving Slovenia« Conference will take place on Thursday, December 10th 2020, between 9.00 and 12.40 in digital form. Participation is free of charge. Join us at the largest conference that presents new opportunities in logistics and mobility projects. The main topic of this year’s conference will be reshaping logistics. We are presenting three panels that will form this year’s logistics conference:
INTRODUCTION:
Part 1: (Round table) HOW A VILLAGE BECAME THE WORLD
The Covid 19 epidemic has contributed to the speeding-up of de-globalization and production digitalization. Production units are moving closer to the markets, outsourcing is now seen from another perspective, it is more important to have the suppliers closer, at arms-length, in order to evade congestions, scarcity of resources, suppliers and problems within supply chains. The digitalization has made the cost of physical labor less important, the labor markets have been pricewise converging for some time anyway, even before the Covid 19 crisis. This has a profound impact on the logistics sector and procurement processes in production companies. How are global logistics, procurement and supply chains becoming more local? Have we overdone industry 4.0 and just-in-time delivery?
Part 2: BUSINESS AS USUAL OR TIME TO GO GREEN?
Will the Covid-19 epidemics be followed by an even bigger environmental crisis? It seems that green technologies are moving from “a nice to have” to “a must” and are seen as a logical step further. Sustainability and environmentally friendly are often regarded as attributes of a success. Was the crisis a trigger for e-development or has getting on our feet as quickly as possible taken precedence?
Part 3: (Round table) CRISIS: A DANGER OR AN OPPORTUNITY?
The Chinese logogram for a “crisis” is set out of words “danger” and “opportunity”. What dangers and opportunities are hidden in a crisis like Covid-19 and what can we learn out of it? How will the future of logistics look like? Which inventions are shaping the way of the future of logistics, also in terms of green technology?
